Mother's Ballet
acrylic on canvas, 30 x 40"
SOLD
The rhythmic and ever-present principle of tension and relaxation is present in the ecological dance of nature's cadence as butterflies, flowers, the sun, and time dance in perfect rhythm to create life and beauty. The painting depicts the purity of the innate knowledge of the flower and the butterfly to serve their purpose in continuing life's dance. The left portrays a digram that fuses the language of sound production for vocal singers and labanotation. Labanotation is the method of recording bodily movement to archive ballets. The painting contemplates the mysterious perfection and balance of life's harmony in the act of admiration, similar to becoming an audience member and watching a ballet. The dancer does not separate from the dance, as they are fused with the art form - just as each individual can not separate themselves from the cosmos and the dance of infinity.
